ACTIVITIES FOR THE KIDS // EASTER TREASURE HUNT

Hope everyone had a wonderful easter weekend with friends and family. We are taking it rather slow this week, seems our chocolate induced comas have decided to hang around a lot longer than we anticipated - and the chocolate shelf is still brimming with eggs and Lindt chocolate bunnies. Here is a really easy activity to do for the kids, especially if you don't want them eating their own body weight in chocolate. H loves a good hunt. So thats what we did, we planned a easter hunt in the garden with a big chocolate prize at the end.

We kicked off Easter Sunday morning in the garden where I planned a mini hunt for Henry in the garden. We knew the bunny had in fact come to Sharpham Park so the real easter egg hunt was to be later but this was something to ease him into it and get H into hunting mode. That and the fact that he needs constant stimulation and exercise. He was waiting by the door like a little puppy dog busting to get outside.

So I quickly ran upstairs grabbed a few of his favourite soft toys, photocopied them and stick them to the tree. I told him a story about the cheeky Bert the Badger who took all Henrys friends out for a night frolicking in the garden to celebrate Easter. In order to win the special easter surprise he had to find all his friends again. I have to say this is probably one of the easiest activities and it kept him focused and entertained for longer than 30 mins which is an absolute result for us. He absolutely loved it and this doesn't just have to be something to do for easter. A hunt in the garden would make a great children's party activity too.

Yay he found all his friends and was treated to his big easter egg from Mummy and Daddy.

The best part for H was getting the picnic blanket out and eating chocolate with mum and his best buds. H loves a good reward.

Henry wasn't very impressed when I said he couldn't eat it all now and that he had to finish his lunch first. Sorry, us mums sometimes have to spoil all the fun.

A pic I snapped of the little man sneaking back into the box to take a huge bit out of the egg I said he had to wait to save for later. Cheeky little thing.

Hope everyone had a lovely easter! Henry's already asking how long until next Easter. I think I am secretly excited too. ;)
