LEGO + SUPERHEROES // MUMLIFE

So any mother of boys will sympathise with me. Our house has officially gone lego and superhero mad. I mean its everywhere. Not just the lego, but the spiderman paraphernalia that can be found in every corner of the house: from the hideous but treasured spiderman wheelie suitcase that H insists on bringing everywhere to the Polyester Spiderman quilt cover that makes me shudder every time I go past H's room. Lego too. Its everywhere. Other than the fact that it poses a serious choking danger to Oscar, and I have punctured my foot on many a 4x4 bricks, I really have a passion for Lego too. So does Will. Maybe even more than me.

That being said, I am grateful that H has such a passion for it. I mean this is no fad. Its pure passion and love. So what better way to spend a sunday then go see the Lego Exhibition: The Art of Bricks in Sydney last year. Combining our two favourite things: Superheroes and Lego. I mean seriously, how could we deny him. We were meant to go to the exhibition in London last year but with Oscar being so tiny it was so difficult. So happy we got to see it. Nathan Swaya has the most incredibly talent for building and his ideas were executed perfectly.

We spent most of the time trying to stop Henry from rushing through the exhibition too quickly. He was so excited that he didnt' really stop to admire the sculptures and always wanted to see what was in the next room. Us lego geeks could spend hours admiring the detail and the skill that goes into creating sculptures like this.

They had a fantastic area at the end for kids to free build and some video games too which H was pretty thrilled about. Of the course the obligatory gift shop and simply couldn't resist ourselves.

Needless to say we have a very excited and super inspired 4 year old when we left and we all really enjoyed it.  Great day all round.
