A VISIT TO THE OPENING OF THE FMLY STORE IN BRUTON

We had such a great time visiting the FMLY store in Bruton which opened its doors for the first time today. It was fantastic to already see the shop buzzing at 10am this morning, and already I can see it as a "hub" for us mums and dads to hang out in. Yes that's right, its not just a store, but a great little hangout hub, with coffee tables, an honesty bar, large play area for the kids and an even bigger bathroom and changing area. I don't think there is one thing that Molly hasn't thought about in making it a pleasant shopping experience for us parents.

The FMLY Store is the brainchild of Molly Gunn, editor and curator of Selfish Mother, author of The Mother Book and founder of GoodTees. We are so pleased to have them down this way in Somerset and even more pleased that they have opened up shop here too, quite literally.
The FMLY store has previously always been run online, so to see the concept in a physical space was even more rewarding than I had hoped.

From the moment you enter the large glass front doors, you are totally blown away with the enormity of the space and the natural light flooding in! It's a gorgeous space, and Molly and her team have thought of every little detail to what makes a perfect shopping experience, especially with kids in tow.

From the play area with its comfy been bag seats, the giant lego blocks, and the row of fire engine red telephones, the giant photo booth (I mean who doesnt love a photo booth) to the 'makeyourown' coffee bar where you can sit and enjoy coffee with other mums and dads and feed your kids snacks and the enormous bathroom and changing rooms where the idea of struggling with a buggy in a tight space is a 'thing of the past'. I am not lying when I said that all the details have been thought of.

As for the products on offer, well, Molly you hit the nail on the head. Of course, the full range of #SelfishMother #GoodTees and #Millionhands are on offer which fill the racks nicely with fun coloured sweats and teeshirts, but then a gorgeous selection of books, children's clothing from The Bright Company, Tiba and Marl Changing Bags, Selfish Mother candles, beauty products, mugs, and just fun little bits and bobs for the kids that you just can't help to put in your shopping basket.

Can I just say Molly, you have nailed it. A perfect space, a perfect shop. Can't wait to come back and spend more dosh and raid your fruit bowl.

Oscar and I then wandered on up to our favourite little spot At The Chapel for a coffee and sandwich and a spot of colouring in. A perfect day with my littlest partner in crime.

  1. The store looks good and has plenty of things for the customers. I will maybe visit it soon in some coming days and look for some stuff. By the way thanks for providing the insight and pictures.
