BACK TO SCHOOL WITH NAMETAGS.COM // GIVEAWAY

Who knew that being organised and putting names on things could be so rewarding. Last weekend Henry and I got busy prepping for his first day of school, which involved shopping for school shoes (which was completely unsuccessful and involved plenty of tears and tantrums) and busy unpacking his school uniform and making sure everything was labelled. 

Floods of memories come streaming back to when it was my first day of school and my mum was busy sewing labels on my shirts, socks, schoolbag, and stationary. Now here I am 25 years later, doing it for my first borns first day at school. Its emotional to say the least. 

Back when I was starting school we didn't have fancy iron on labels, and had a standard font and colour options when it came to our sew on labels. The choice available at MyNametags.com is phenomenal and even Henry had a hard time choosing which ones he wanted. 

MyNametags.com kindly sent a packet of iron on labels and a packet of washing machine proof stickers for us to review and try. Henry couldn't contain his excitement when we sat down to it and it was so easy and quick. Of course, sewing on labels is great but I honestly don't know where people find the time and half my friends say they hand it over to grandma to do.

The iron-on labels are super easy, only make sure you don't rub the iron over it too much as the sticker will begin to shrivel. The total time for ironing 2 school jumpers, 5 school t-shirts, 2 shorts, 2 sports shorts, 2 trousers and a school bag including all the stickers that Henry did only took us 15 minutes. My mum would spend hours sewing onto everything and would be working on it every evening of the week before school started. 

What was so great was that Henry was able to get involved and got busy labelling his lunchbox, sports bag, drinks bottle whilst I handled the hot iron and did the iron-on labels while simultaneously making sure he was only using '1' sticker per item. 

After it was finished we rewarded ourselves with a hot chocolate at the park and talked about all the things he was gonna do at his first year at school.
